A little bit about me...
I met my husband while we were both at school and being a little romantic at heart, I sent him an anonymous valentines card. We have now been together nearly 16 years and married under an oak tree in the countryside of Cowra, in regional Australia. Trees and the great outdoors have always been close to my heart, having spent all my holidays growing up on my grand-parents property on the outskirts of Rockley, near Bathurst. My sister and I were able to roam free competing over who could build the best tree-house down at the creek. My husband also spent his holidays on his father’s property near Cowra (where we got married), so he also has a deep affiliation with the land. We are jointly raising our daughters, Olive & Elsie. Having children was the great turning point for me - it changed my life for the better in so many ways. It gave me a clear and rewarding purpose and a new appreciation for the world and the way it works. After having a much greater sense of purpose, came the desire to do something I was truly passionate about. I knew I wanted to keep working, not only for me in the long-term but also in wanting to be a positive role model for my kids, in teaching them the value of work and putting in effort to achieve the things you want, like my mum and dad had both done for me.
The role of a civil celebrant is to assist in the process of uniting two individual lives onto the one path. There is such excitement, joy and happiness that comes from being part of a couple's special event. Knowing that I have helped contribute to that brings me a huge level of satisfaction.
OK enough about me... this is about you!
